Join us for the 2nd Annual Snowsnake Minneapolis, a weekend dedicated to revitalizing the tradition of snowsnake games, fostering community connection, and celebrating Indigenous winter traditions.

πŸ“… Saturday & Sunday, February 22-23, 2025

Saturday, February 22 | 4:30 PM - 9 PM

5 PM | Community Potluck – Bring a dish to share and enjoy a meal together.
6 PM | Intertribal Teachings – Learn about the cultural significance of snowsnake and the values of honor, kindness, and integrity that guide the game.

Snowsnake is more than just a gameβ€”it is a way to connect with each other, the land, and our traditions. Whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned player, all are welcome to participate and learn.

Sunday, February 23 | 10 AM - 4 PM

10 AM - 12 PM | Open Track for Practice Throws – Warm up and refine your snowsnake skills.
12 PM | Community Feast – Enjoy a shared meal before the competition begins. Please bring your own feast bundle (beverage container, bowl, plate, utensils, etc.). Compostable options will be available.
1 PM | Tournament Start – Open to all ages! Test your skills and compete in a welcoming and spirited environment.

Throughout the day, enjoy cultural activities and Indigenous teachings, including:

  • Dakota Singers sharing traditional songs

  • Fireside Wood Carving demonstrations

  • Indigenous Puppetry & Team Building Activities

  • Other Traditional Indigenous Games hosted by Four Fires, LLC. & Original Games, LLC.

  • Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork by Inherent Healing, LLC.

  • Native Food Vendor Samples and more!

🎁 Prize Blanket: We encourage attendees to bring tobacco and small gifts to contribute to the prize blanket as a gesture of community generosity.

🌿 Outdoor Event Reminder: While warming spaces will be available, this is primarily an outdoor gathering. Please dress warmly and come prepared for winter conditions.
